The history of the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin house begins in 1772 and is marked by a woman, Barbe Nicole Ponsardin, who was widowed at the age of 27 when she took over the family business. In 1810 she produced the first recorded dated Champagne in the region and a few years later invented the first gyro pallet. The house is now part of the LVMH Group.
The house’s classic NV Rose is a well-made rosé Champagne with red fruit aromas of strawberry and cherry, mineral character and light hints of yeast on the palate.
